What is the Founder Academy?
Founder Academy is a 2 week or 6 week program designed to help you kickstart your startup journey. The programme features workshops with experts, video tutorials delivered by founders from across Africa, fireside chats with experienced startup operators and investors, office hours sessions, and milestones to keep you focused and progressing towards launching.

Once you’ve graduated from our Founder Academy, you’ll become eligible to apply to our Incubator program that prepares you to become generate revenue and/or investment-ready and will also be potentially considered for investment from our upcoming ALX Ventures Fund.

FAQs
To enrol in the Founder Academy, you do not need to already have a business or even a specific idea yet, but it’s ok if you do. The Founder Academy programme experience is designed to enable you to explore challenges and business models to identify a suitable business to develop or refine.
You must be 18 years of age or older and create an account on our Admissions Portal
In order to access the your chosen programme and ALX ecosystem, you will be required to pay the $5 All Access, giving you access to the following :
- All ALX Programmes – You will be able to register for as many ALX programmes as you like concurrently, so long as all prerequisite requirements are met.
- ALX hubs in the 8 markets
- ALX Ventures events and workshops.
- ALX Ventures Alumni community
- ALX rewards and perks program
If you meet our eligibility requirements (18 years and older) and successfully register for an ALX programme of your choice, the cost of your programme will be sponsored and you will not be required to pay anything other than your monthly $5 All Access. This access fee helps support the cost of providing low-cost access to world-class programmes and maintaining the infrastructure and resources needed for the learning experience.

ALX Ventures will stay in touch with graduates and will evaluate potential investments based on a comprehensive set of criteria that reflect the startup’s current performance, growth potential, market opportunity, team capability, and alignment with ALX Ventures’ strategic interests.
